About the Artist
There are places where light bends low enough to touch the soul.
I paint to find them.
My landscapes begin in the quiet, often-forgotten stretches of North Texas—undeveloped acreage, creeks, rural roads, abandoned fields where light lingers and silence speaks. These are not heroic vistas, but intimate, cinematic scapes where something sacred feels near. I return to them often, walking, observing, waiting—watching how light shifts through mist, how sky and soil carry memory, how even a shadow can have presence.
Using oil on archival linen, cotton, or wood panels, I work slowly and intentionally, building luminous surfaces through traditional techniques that honor both the craft and the image. My materials are chosen with permanence in mind: hand-primed substrates, natural fiber supports, and professional-grade, lightfast pigments. These choices aren’t just technical—they reflect my belief that beauty deserves to last.
Compositionally, my work carries a cinematic sensibility—wide skies, low horizon lines, and solitary figures immersed in the landscape. I’m drawn to numinous atmospheres: fog, reflected light, backlit forms, and the reverent hush of early morning. I often paint the moment just before or after something has happened—the threshold, the hush, the breath between.
Beneath the visual, my work is deeply spiritual. I paint in response to wonder—a form of listening and communion. Scripture, prayer, and the textures of the natural world all inform my process. What is seen becomes a portal to what is sacred. In these spaces, hope is not loud. Joy is not forced. They arrive gently, like a hymn remembered or a whisper in the wind. Each painting becomes a kind of window—sometimes a wound, sometimes a revelation—through which the viewer is invited to pause, wander, and perhaps hear their own longing echoed back. This is art for the contemplative, the adventurer of the inner world, the one who still believes in mystery.
